American Standard Americast Bathtub's have easy cleaning recommendations and care instructions. Using a non-abrasive cleaner such as powdered Bon Ami, Spic 'N Spam, didi seven or ZUD on stains; wet and wipe off the surface. A scouring pad or other abrasive material should not be used.

All American Standard Americast bathtubs feature a "Stan-Sure" slip resistant enamel surface. This finish is obtained by mixing porcelain and hard quartz to produce a safer surface. This built in safety feature can reduce the need for mildew and bacteria harboring mats and unsightly tapes in the bottom of your bathtub. Being an American citizen means that you have responsibilities and rights as an American living here in the United States. When you abide by the laws you have sworn to follow, you are provided with certain privileges that other citizens here already have through birth or also through the naturalization process.

Becoming an American citizen allows you to vote in federal elections. A big part of becoming an American citizen is that you are free to show your patriotism. This is one of the best ways to show how committed you are to this country.

During the Fourth of July holiday, there are many Americans that show their patriotism by wearing red, white and blue. They have a lot of pride for the United States and they are not ashamed to show it.

Being an American citizen means that we are thankful that we have the freedom and ideals that we can share with others. There are other countries around the world that are not able to exercise their freedom of speech and liberty. These freedoms came from our forefathers before us. Becoming an American citizen is the best thing that can happen to anyone. It's not something that can be taken for granted. Once you get the opportunity, it's a feeling and an honor that you can't deny.

When you become an American citizen, you will be able to tell others of your new country and your new home. Being in America is nothing to be ashamed of. Other people show their pride by having things that represent America and what it stands for.

The amazing speed at which liqor stores are sprouting all over the country, also facilitate the heavy use of alcohol.

Another dilemma facing those who suffer from abusive drinking problems within this community, are insufficient health insurance schemes and restricted social welfare policies. This makes it very difficult for most of the African-American abusive drinkers to make use of the various treatment programs available. As a result, there is a growing demand for programs which specifically cater to the needs of cultural and economic minority groups and which are economically feasible for the low income groups.

The Stripes

Boldly reaching across the width of Old Glory are 13 alternating red and white stripes. Each one of these stripes represent the original thirteen colonies of the United States. They got to thirteen and then changed plans, deciding to halt any additional stripes, so the American flag still sports thirteen stripes to this day.

The Stars

The beautiful white 5-point stars sitting upon the blue rectangle of the American flag represent each state. There are 50 stars just as there are 50 United States of America.

The Colors

We all know the red, white and blue as well as we know our own faces (better, probably) but what each color stands for is likely a mystery to most, so here's the explanation. On the US flag, the red stripes stand for courage, hardiness and blood shed from the brave men and woman who fought and continue to fight for America. The white stripes in the Flag symbolize purity and equality. The blue portion of the American flag stands for justice, perseverance and vigilance.

Together, these components create the beauty that is the American flag.

The American Sonnet was made famous by Former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins in the well known sonnet with the first line of All we need is fourteen lines. Additionally, "American Sonnet" appears in Billy Collins's Sailing Alone Around the Room (Random House, 2001). The American Sonnet does not follow any particular rhyming pattern. Frankly, the main way of identifying the sonnet is the fact that it has fourteen lines. There are times when the sonnet is written with five stanzas in the tercet form such as the piece entitled, Sonnet, by Robert Pinsky. Additionally, one may write the sonnet using a pair of four-line and three-line stanzas similar to the Romantic Sonnet written by Charles Simic. Finally, one may even ascribe to the reversed Italian sonnet format by beginning the sonnet with the sestet of six lines and ending with an octave of eight lines as used by John Ashbery in the sonnet At North Farm. The American sonnet form is consistent with the American personality of not being restricted by imposed rigidity.
