The media is flooded with stories of "evil pitbulls". The news is only curious in terrific tales of malicious dogs. Nobody talks about the thousands of good Samaritan pit bulls. Here are just a few stories of the astonishing acts pit bulls have done.
The most famous pit bull is probably Petey, from the microscopic Rascals. He played with children his whole life and brought happiness to millions. Petey never turned on Alfalfa, and he is not the irregularity to the breed.

Then there's Sergeant Stubby, the very decorated pitbull who served during world war 1. He was made America's first war dog.
More current stories of pit bulls employed by the governMent come from Cheyenne and Dakota, the crusade and rescue pit bulls. Popsicle, someone else pit was named the number one customs dog after many high profile drug busts.
Weela the pit was made famous after rescue 29 other dogs, 30 people, 13 horses, and one cat during a flood in California.
Then there's the equally amazing, though far less high profile, stories of Weezie, who saved his house from an armed intruder, or Maya, who saved her owner from an assault during a home invasion. Maya also had a helping hand in capturing the perpetrator by retaining some of his Dna on her fur.
Chief, a truly heroic dog, died after sustaining manifold bites while rescue two woMen from a cobra who invaded their home. Roary survived a similar situation. She suffered manifold bites from a venomous snake that attempted to assault her 3 year old owner Ebony Davis.
The pit bulls listed here are only a drop in the bucket. These stories and the many more like them should be spread instead of the sensationalized tales that proliferate the media.
